Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana is a state-wide, non-profit organization dedicated to preventing the abuse and neglect of our state's children. Our mission is carried out through the development, implementation and support of child abuse prevention activities in Louisiana.

We were established in 1986 when the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America (formerly the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse) merged with Parent's Anonymous of Louisiana. Originally called the Louisiana Council on Child Abuse, we changed our name in 1998 to one that better identifies our mission. Today, we are the recognized affiliate of Prevent Child Abuse America.

Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana is a private, nonprofit, organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors. Throughout our history, we have garnered funding from private and government grants, and individual and corporate donations. Currently, we have stabilized our funding base to be approximately 50% government grants and 50% private donations.

Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana is headquartered in Baton Rouge with regional offices in Alexandria, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport.
