Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana relies on special events in our communities to both raise funds for and increase awareness in support of our cause.

We hold two major fundraisers each year:

Night of the Child - Night of the Child celebrations are Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana’s premier fundraising events. They are held in seven cities in Louisiana. Money raised by each region supports child abuse and neglect programs in that area.  Each event has a different theme and flavor that may vary each year. (Click for more information.)

Vision Runway Show - Our newest fundraiser held in Baton Rouge and the Northshore appeals to a younger generation and showcases the latest trends in hair and fashion while raising awareness of the need for our programs. (Click for more information.)

Pinwheels for Prevention - Held in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month, our Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign puts focus on the belief that the prevention of child abuse and neglect makes a significant impact on our economy, our communities, and our country.  Pinwheel plantings help to create awareness that there is a need for programs and policies that focus on prevention strategies to reduce the cases of child abuse and neglect. Kids are Worth It! Conference - Our annual state-wide conference held in Baton Rouge attracts social workers, child protection workers, law enforcement officials, day care workers, teachers and others who work with children to learn the latest in prevention and treatment for child abuse and neglect. Cox Teen Summit - The 2008 Cox Teen Summit on Internet Safety and Grassroots Advocacy, in collaboration with PCA Louisiana, was held on April 30, 2008. The Summit was attended by 100 teens/students and adult advisors from across the state. (Click for more information.)
